In a recent online survey, I asked students who have taught in one of our classes about their top essay topics. The majority chose topics like 'Why I Enjoyed My Second Year of Graduate School,' 'Why I'm Not a Celebrity,' and 'My Career Overview.' Let's take a look at some of these top-selling essay topics, and see how the students scored them.Students are always looking for more sample essays from which to choose, but we recently found that the most popular topics among the students at our school were all written by the class' instructor. This professor's classroom structure was eclectic, as he had four sections, each with an instructor in each chair, three courses per semester. Each section had its own instructors, but it also included faculty from several other courses who shared the same syllabus and were taught by an equal number of instructors.Students loved the Section A, which includ ed professors from all four sections of the course. They loved the Section B instructor who was often the section's director or co-chair. Students also loved the Section C instructors, who covered topics like Business Ethics, Money Management, Choosing the Right Job, and Managing Time at Work.Of the two topics that students chose as their top essay samples, they really loved 'Why I Enjoyed My Second Year of Graduate School.' It was a great topic, and a nice extension of the student's history in the class. Not only did the students love the topic, but they thought it was a terrific thesis statement.The other popular essay topics were by instructors who were not necessarily teachers, but by 'experts' in the field they taught. It wasn't about teaching, per se, but instead focused on an outside-the-classside perspective, with subjects like how business people worked, travel writing, and finance. These topics weren't perfect, but they also made interesting readings, and would be an inter esting read for a good many students.When I asked students what the most expensive Jet Essay Sample was, many pointed to the second highest priced topic of the instructors we studied. One student chose the topic, 'Personal Finance: Saving For Retirement,' over the other two topics we looked at.I'm sure there are plenty of students who could give you a similar story about how their mom told them that, 'Your Mom is right about your Heirs' Future,' or how their dad told them that, 'You Can't Live Here Now, But Your Kids Will.' We looked at all these stories, and I think that students chose to learn the information they needed, and wanted to find a way to use the material to make a point. It was my hope that in the end, the students who took this course would be inspired to find more essay topics to look at, or write their own original essays.Now that's rich language and character. Please consider all this and think on it.
